Beauty and the Geek: Human Nature
It’s funny that the women on
Beauty and the Geek 2 are supposed to be the social creatures, and the men are presumed to be the opposite – not exactly antisocial, but at least asocial. They’re the ones who stay in their rooms playing video games and solving Rubik’s cube in record time, while their partners are learning how to make friends and enjoy life without overanalyzing (or analyzing at all).
Why is it funny? It’s funny because Josh, the geekiest of the geeks, would like to tell his partner Cher, who has won two challenges in a row, that she can’t treat people the way she does. And it’s Tristin, the partner of the bully Chris, who rolls her eyes and calls people names and takes offense at the fact that she’s a target of the other teams.
Well, she’s actually a target more of because who her partner is than for any of the flaws in her own personality. If there weren’t already a show called “Everybody Hates Chris,” that could be the title of this season’s
Beauty and the Geek.
Tristin and Chris keep getting sent to the elimination room, and they keep winning and coming back to haunt the ones who sent them. If she were a little less harsh with the other women, Tristin might be able to overcome the dislike everyone feels for Chris. But the way things are, it looks as if they’re going to keep being the targets. That part is just human nature.
