    Surface: Season Finale
The best thing about Surface is that it goes places that are so far out there, there’s no way you can guess what’s going to happen, in the next five minutes much less the next week. We only had fifteen episodes to get from a somewhat normal existence to the destruction of the eastern seaboard. It was satisfying to see the three main characters (and Nim) finally get to the same place and time. There had better be a second season, because it left the three of them (and Caitlin and Nim) at the top of a church tower surrounded by water and sea monsters. I have no idea what the writers plan to show us next, but I know I want to see it.

My favorite scene tonight was Rich leaving what he assumes will be the last message for his wife and daughters on their answering machine, as he sits in a locked room waiting for the tsunami to wash him away. The most memorable scene, though, was when Miles and Caitlin (and Nim) are in his house watching a news report on TV and one of the monsters comes up from behind and eats the reporter. That was cool.
