    10:21p
    Matter of Trust
I was skeptical that Yul (on Survivor: Cook Islands, that Yul) was doing the wrong thing when he spread the news that he had the hidden Immunity Idol. The smart move would have been to keep the idol to himself until he needed it. But instead he used it to buy himself and his former Aitu tribe mates an extra few days in the game. He gambled a definite bit of security somewhere down the road for a shot at keeping a strong alliance together.

That’s not only noble, but it turned out to be a smart play, because now his side has the numbers in their favor. Let’s face it, Jonathan can’t go back to Raro, and in another week he’ll be expendable to Aitu. I actually think the better way for him to go tonight would have been to vote with Raro against Yul, forcing him to use the idol. Nate would still have been kicked off, but it would have led to two tight alliances of four, instead of one tight group of four, the three remaining Raro members, and Jonathan, who is neither wanted nor needed by anyone any more.

Plus, Yul still has his ace in the hole, although the more people who know about it, the less valuable it becomes. I applaud him for making a bold move, though.
