    Time Event
    11:38p
    Weasel is a verb
Last week on Survivor, I questioned Yul for bringing the hidden idol out into the open the way he did, but he had a plan and it worked. This week, I questioned him again for going public about having it, but he seems to know what he’s doing, so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. I still don’t know what advantage it gives him for everyone to know, except that it will mean he probably never has to use it.

Whatever advantage Jonathan gained by switching sides (again) last time was lost by his attitude and his behavior. But at least he’s consistent. He never had any respect for the former Raro people, even after he mutinied to join them. It didn’t do him any good to show such open contempt for them, though, because it made his own alliance think twice about keeping him. The women especially were offended by him, and I think that will haunt him before long.

Still, it was the right thing to do for the former Aitu group to keep Jonathan and vote Candice out. You never, ever give up numbers in favor of personalities. You never look so far ahead to the possible jury vote that you put yourself in a position of possibly not making it to the final two. For all the attempts to play on Yul, Becky, Sundra and Ozzie, they stayed strong, as they should have.

Adam and Candice, on the other hand, didn’t play the smartest game. Adam’s threat not to give his jury vote to Yul if Jonathan weren’t voted out was empty and heavy-handed. I can see Candice’s resentment for the others not sharing food with the slackers, but she handled it poorly. She misrepresented what Yul had said about Jonathan, although I’m sure she was accurately portraying how he really feels.

When Yul was going over with Becky the possibility of voting off Jonathan to curry favor with the jury, I was surprised she didn’t ask him why his allies should help him get votes, when supposedly it’s going to be one of them up against him.

And wasn’t Nate a hoot at Tribal Council? He’s a lot more fun to watch when he can’t talk.
