    Nevertheless, you can stay
I really hope Ryan wasn’t surprised that he was eliminated on tonight’s episode of Top Design. For all of his talk about being edgy and artistic, he added nothing to the garage the team designed in this challenge. Maybe he thought he wanted to be an interior designer, but it’s been obvious the whole season that he doesn’t think of himself as one, and that he doesn’t respect the work. He also doesn’t have much respect for the people who do the work -- in other words, his fellow contestants and the judges. It that isn’t a ticket home, I don’t know what is.

If Goil doesn’t end up winning the competition, I’ll be surprised. He’s the only one who is consistently creative and who has a distinctive point of view. He didn’t exactly flourish in the team concept of tonight’s challenge, but I think he was trying to be a team player. Maybe that comes more easily to someone who isn’t naturally innovative and inventive, but it definitely didn’t show Goil to his best advantage. Fortunately, his track record kept him safe for this week. When they get back to individual perspective, which I thought the show was supposed to be about, he’ll shine.
