I hope it's not the spelling thing
The teams that so gleefully celebrated the elimination of Rob and Amber from Amazing Race: All-Stars tonight probably thought that it was karma, because of Amber’s fib to Mirna about the location of one clue, or the way they stole the taxi at the airport, or maybe Rob’s general cockiness throughout the race, after finishing first the first three legs. But it wasn’t karma as much as it was stupidity.

Sometimes you just pick the wrong Detour, and there’s nothing wrong with that, because there’s no way to know ahead of time which one is easier. But I think in this case they did pick the easier one, if only they’d followed directions. That has amazed me throughout the all-star season, that teams think they can get by without reading clues. If Rob and Amber had known how to spell “Philippines,” they’d still be in the race. But they didn’t have to know how to spell it; all they had to do was copy it off the map that was right in front of them. I’ve liked the way this team has played, but if they’re going to make such a ridiculous avoidable error, they certainly deserved to go tonight.
