Skippy and hoppy, stiff and starchy
What’s with the live audience at
Dancing With the Stars? Even the mildest hint of criticism from the judges calls for hissing and booing as if they’d kicked a puppy. And the thing is, the judges tonight were extremely charitable, in my uninformed opinion, with both their comments and their scores. I think they got the top three couples right, although not in the right order. To me, Joey and Kym were the best, but the judges had them tied for third for the night, behind Laila and Maksim and Apolo and Julianne. I can’t see why Heather and Jonathan were tied with them for third, because their mambo just wasn’t all that hot.
And what’s with the high scores for John and Edyta, and for Billy Ray and Karina? Apparently this season being entertaining counts for more than dancing well. Those were some of the slowest quicksteps ever. I can’t remember who I predicted last week would go home, but for now I’m saying Clyde, because Billy Ray will get the preteen vote. Leeza would be in the running, but she improved so much this week, and she and Tony were a lot of fun to watch.
