Lay down at five, jump up at six
You know, at this point I don’t care who else makes the finals of season six of
American Idol, as long as Melinda gets there. Simon said what I’ve been thinking all season, that Melinda is the most consistent, polished performer. She never misses a note, and she turns every song into a one-act play, with real thought and feeling behind it. No one else in the competition has been able to do that. Jordin has a big, beautiful voice, and Blake is a true entertainer, but Melinda is the real deal. There were no rough spots or down times or bad patches in any of the songs she sang tonight. Each of the other two, I thought, had one outstanding number and two that were pretty good. I know there are other criteria that people base their votes on, but I know what I think you should have to do to be the American Idol, and Melinda has done it.
