    Time Event
    10:51p
    Perfect play, genius idea, smashed!
I can’t help it. I love it when a plan fails, especially a lame plan that involves losing on purpose. Finally on this week’s episode of Survivor: China, Jaime and Peih-Gee learned that their plan to pick off Aaron and James had stalled, because they could no longer trust Frosti and Sherea. So they decided to try to win this week, but what they didn’t know was that James, with the hidden Immunity Idol supplied to him by Todd, had a vested interest in seeing his tribe lose.

And oh, did he try to lose. And oh, did he fail. He would have been safe this time either way, but Zhan Hu’s win meant that Todd’s big play had backfired. I like that Todd makes big moves and tries to make the game work for him, so it was a little disheartening to see him get cold feet.

When Courtney told him she couldn’t go along with the plan to vote out Sherea, the best play for him would have been to go along with her and get Jean-Robert out of the game before the merge. Jean-Robert is never going to be a team player, and they already know they can’t trust him. He pretty much announced the fact that he was untrustworthy when he told them he was a professional poker player. That’s exactly the kind of person you should vote out, and that move would have placated Courtney, Frosti and Sherea.

Now, with the merge (or some kind of shake-up) imminent, Todd has made himself a target, after handing over the hidden idol to James. He was right when he said that being a power player sucks. That’s especially true if you make bad decisions.
