    Time Event
    9:31p
You gotta keep yourself nervous, or else you’re gonna get screwed
Survivor is always a numbers game, and on tonight’s episode of Survivor: China, Denise had to calculate her chances carefully, because she was the swing vote. The argument for taking out Todd was a strong one, because her position in the old Fei Long tribe is fourth out of four, and she knows it.

On the other hand, if she thinks she’s capable of winning challenges, she probably has the best chance with the jury of anyone from Fei Long. In fact, the only person who was still in the game at the time that she probably couldn’t beat in front of the jury was Erik. He was by far the most likable person left, and at this end stage of the game, you have to take that into consideration when you’re voting someone out.

I understand Denise’s dilemma, and I know why she thought it might be a stupid move, but I think the best thing she could have done tonight was exactly what she did: stick with her old tribe and help them get rid of Erik. And they have one more easy vote at the next Tribal Council, unless Peih-Gee wins immunity again, or unless alliances crumble (as seems entirely possible). If Todd becomes a target again, the least it does for Denise is keep her out of the line of fire one more time and advance her closer to the final. Either way, she’s better off than she would have been if she’d broken the alliance tonight.
