    Time Event
    9:50p
The Pinks are up to their mischief
As sorry as I was to see Kynt and Vyxsin eliminated in tonight’s leg of The Amazing Race 12, they had chances to stay in the race, if only they’d been more aware of what was going on around them. It’s too bad, because they did so many things right. It wasn’t the fact that they started more than an hour behind the team ahead of them, and it wasn’t even the Speed Bump, which they completed with their usual grace. But why didn’t they know that the team they needed to U-Turn was Nate and Jen? They had been making garlands right next to them! Obviously they should have known they were the closest competition.

And yet, they still had a chance to keep racing, but Kynt misread the clue at the Road Block, and brought back the wrong receipts to the foreman at the gas service. That trumped even Jen’s blunder of forgetting to get a receipt altogether from her first delivery. She only had to backtrack to one place; Kynt had to go to two, and in the end, that’s the reason the Goths finished last.

Not only are they gone, but they missed a wonderful chance to eliminate the most obnoxious team we’ve seen in a long time. Nate and Jen (especially, I have to say, Jen) have such a bad attitude about the race that it spills over into their relationship and makes them hard to watch (but laughable). Kynt and Vyxsin cherished every moment they were in the race. That’s the kind of team I always want to see win, but it doesn’t always work out that way.

For bad chemistry, it’s hard to beat the father-daughter team of Ronald and Christina. He berates and abuses her beyond reason, and even when she fights back she shows more class than he does. I loved it when she said, “Daddy, if you piss off the judge, we’re screwed.” And then she calmly corrected all the mistakes he’d made in hanging the movie poster. And then he praised her, but it was a little late, I thought.

I honestly thought Nicolas and Donald would be done for when Nic got lost making deliveries yet again. That’s pretty much the same thing that happened to him in Amsterdam if I recall. Or was it Ouagadougou? Or maybe both.

Anyway, I’m glad they’re still in the race, and I was really happy to see TK and Rachel recover from the last leg and finish this one in first place. They were the first to finish both the Detour and the Road Block, even though they hadn’t been leading when those tasks started. That sounds like a team who’s finding its way and gaining momentum at just the right time, heading into the final four.
