If I don’t trust you, then you can’t believe a word I’m saying
Whoo! Jonathan really got hung out to dry at Tribal Council on tonight’s
Survivor, didn’t he? The only person who voted with him was Yau-Man, and he’s gone. Eliza voted with the other alliance, and Ami went on her own and voted against Cirie. Jonathan went from power player to exile in his own tribe about as fast as that kind of shift can happen.
The problem with Cirie’s “strategy” is that (a) it was never going to work in the long run, because she’s the outsider among two couples, and (2) now that the couples alliance has the numbers advantage, they no longer need Cirie. They’ve seen how she breaks promises, so there’s no reason to keep her around long enough to betray them. And the “final three” guarantee that Parvati and Amanda made to Cirie on the boat? Worth the paper it’s printed on.
Not only that, but James and Ozzy were both obviously ticked off at being forced to vote out Yau-Man against their own better judgment. Cirie came on a wee bit strong in insisting that Yau-Man, who is probably the most trustworthy person on that island, be voted off. Her reason in camp was that she was afraid he’d find the hidden Immunity Idol. Then at Tribal Council, she said it was because he’s allied with Jonathan.
Jonathan might be at the other end of the trustworthy spectrum from Yau-Man, but he picked the right person to send home tonight. Parvati is too closely tied to James, but she herself brings little to the table in terms of skills and ability. The Favorites have managed to weaken their tribe at just the wrong time, when they’re already losing challenges they should win. I don’t think anybody benefits from this elimination, least of all the person who engineered it. Cirie got to fourth place in Panama by flying under the radar, but she’ll never be able to get back under it after tonight.
