Brilliant move, Survivor Favorites! Cirie and Ami have been to Exile Island, and they know that finding the hidden Immunity Idol requires one thing more than any other: a lot of swimming. So who does this tribe send to Exile Island tonight? Ozzy, of course. If they were thinking it would keep anyone on the other tribe from getting the Idol, they were right. If they were thinking it would benefit anyone besides Ozzy, I’m pretty sure they were wrong. What it does is eliminate everyone else’s chance to get the Idol. Brilliant.

And speaking of lame strategies, how about voting out one of your strongest members this early, and keeping a minority alliance around long enough to gain strength? That’s what the Fans did by sending Mikey B. home instead of Chet. Joel let Tracy manipulate him, playing on the big rivalry between the Fans’ two strongest players. Well, now they only have one strong guy, and they still have the useless Chet, who did everything but tell people to vote him off. These students of the game could use a little more education.

It’s actually more interesting when the Favorites lose immunity, because they have creative ways of turning on each other. Wouldn’t it have been fun to see James and Ozzy’s resentment of Cirie play out tonight? But there’s something to be said for experience, and it showed in the way this tribe sailed through both challenges and won them handily. It’s too bad, because I wanted to see how Jonathan was going to work his way back from being a pariah to almost everyone in his tribe, including members of his own fractured alliance. Oh, well. Maybe next week.
