I don’t want anybody to think I’m quitting
I don’t know what disappoints me more, the plan that fell through, or the CBS editing that made it seem that something momentous was going to happen at Tribal Council on tonight’s
Survivor: Micronesia. The plan was a little too elaborate, in that Ami and Tracy wanted to vote out Ozzy without bringing in Cirie and Amanda, even though Cirie, at least, has been vocal in her resentment of Ozzy’s power on the Malukal tribe (“Yay, reef!”). And it seemed she had convinced Amanda that it might be time to make a move against Ozzy. Whatever the scenario, it appeared that some maverick votes were going to upset the tribe tonight, but in the end, Ozzy had his way and got everyone else to vote out Tracy. I think Ami probably just chickened out and pulled the plug on the plan, without even fully discussing it with anyone who might have helped her.
I’m really sorry that Kathy couldn’t “feel” her family, and it’s sad that she was so miserable in the cave that she felt she had to leave. But what I want to know is this. How in the world did she get cast as a “Fan” of
Survivor, when she obviously didn’t know how the game would be played or what the conditions would be like? She has every right to quit, but quitting is what it is, not anything more noble than that, and she’s left her tribe in a more vulnerable position because of it. And this happened only a few days after Jonathan was so upset about leaving – even at the risk of his life! – that he would have stayed if he could, despite the pain he was in. It was fine for James to tell Kathy it was fine, and to give her a big hug, but we know how James really feels about it, don’t we? At least, I hope we do.
